PermalinkThe European Commission has issued a reasoned opinion in the infringement procedure against Poland for violations of EU law by the Contitutional Tribunal. Rule of law must be respected, affirms MEP Věra Jourová. Poland has now two months to take the necessary measures to comply with EU law, otherwise the Commission may refer the case to the Court of Justice. Read more.

According to Euronews correspondent Jack Parrock, the European Commission has referred Hungary to the Court of Justice of the European Union over two cases concerning freedom of speech: the anti-LGBT ‘Children Protection Act’ and the closure of the Kubradio station, considered one of the few remaining opposition media outlets in the country.
