Yesterday, EU leaders agreed to give EU candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova. The European Council is also ready to grant Georgia EU candidate status once the priorities laid down in the European Commission’s Opinion on Georgia’s membership application have been met. EU leaders have also discussed EU membership perspective of the Western Balkans, EU support to Ukraine and the global food security crisis. Read the conclusions here. Today, EU leaders will partecipate in the Euro Summit and economic issues will be discussed.

Our rule of law conference organised by John Morijn took place this afternoon. Women on the frontlines, judicial independence and rule of law have been discussed by the participants, including dr. Adam Bodnar, professor Wojciech Sadurski, Akudo Kyoshia McGee Osuagwu, Léonie de Jonge, Márta Pardavi, MEP Sophie in ‘t Veld and Petra Bárd.
