PermalinkThe U.K. govt will present a bill to give U.K. ministers powers to override the Northern Ireland protocol. The EU considers this a breach of the Brexit Trade and Cooperation Agreement of which the Protocol is part.
You can’t unilaterally amend an international treaty by changing domestic law. If you could there’d be no point in having treaties. It get to the heart of the difference between two ideas of Brexit.

Although most of the attention has focused on the milestones relating to the judicial system, Ziobro notes that the agreement also covers issues elating to the environment, healthcare, governance and transparency.
