PermalinkViktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary, declares state of emergency over crisis caused by Ukraine war. Measures to be adopted will be announced on Wednesday. After a lost-fight against Brussels for the release of post pandemic recovery funds, this allows government to bypass Parliament, as in pandemic. He pushed through a constitutional amendment allowing his government to rule by decree in situations including when war breaks out in a neighboring state. Read the article.
