Garvan Walshe

Garvan Walshe founded Article 7. He’s an entrepreneur and political strategist with 15 years’ experience in European politics. He writes regularly for Foreign Policy and has been published in The Economist, Die Welt and CNN. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester and has been a Max Weber fellow at the European University Institute in Florence.

Co-Founded Unhack Democracy, an election integrity watchdog focused on Central and Eastern Europe. 

Run the Elections Analysis Unit at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, which monitored and exposed disinformation and the strategies employed by national populists in the 2019 European Elections. 

Worked with the ARENA Centre (originally at the London School of Economics, now at John’s Hopkins AGORA) on media pluralism.

Dr Walshe  writes regularly for Foreign Policy and has been published in The Economist, Die Welt and CNN. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester and has been a Max Weber fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. He was previously national and international security policy adviser to the British Conservative Party.
